Originating in Havana, the Cuban Frita Burger is a beloved street food that fuses Cuban and American flavors. Traditionally made with a mix of beef and chorizo, it's topped with crispy potato sticks and served with mustard and ketchup. This dish reflects the vibrant culinary culture of Cuba and has gained popularity beyond its borders, often enjoyed at backyard cookouts and casual dining spots.

Prepare the basting sauce by mixing smokin ghost ketchup, apple cider vinegar, and beef stock in a bowl.
Add smoked paprika, oregano, and kosher salt to the sauce and whisk together.
Transfer the basting sauce to a squeeze bottle for easy application.
Break up the Creekstone Farms brisket blend burger meat in a bowl.
Grate 1/2 cup of white onion, strain it to remove excess moisture, and add to the meat.
Add 2 teaspoons of finely grated garlic to the meat mixture.
Season the meat with Cattleman's Grill Roadhouse Steakhouse Rub and smoked paprika, then mix by hand.
Divide the meat mixture into four equal parts, forming 5-ounce patties, and refrigerate.
Slice white onion super thin for topping the burger.
Julienne russet potatoes using a mandolin to create shoestring fries.
Soak the julienned potatoes in cool water to remove starch, then rinse and dry on paper towels.
Heat oil in a Dutch oven to 400 degrees for frying the shoestring fries.
Toast Kaiser rolls on a flat top griddle until golden brown.
Deep fry the shoestring fries in batches until golden brown, then drain on paper towels and season with salt.
Increase griddle heat to high and cook the burger patties, pressing down with a spatula to flatten.
Baste the patties with the prepared sauce while cooking.
