Prepare the syrup by combining 2 cups of water, 2 cups of sugar, and 1 sliced lemon in a saucepan and cook until it becomes syrupy.
Melt 200 grams of butter for layering the phyllo dough.
Cut the phyllo dough to fit the baking pan, using about 5 layers for the bottom.
Layer 5 sheets of phyllo dough in the baking pan, brushing each layer with melted butter.
Mix 500 grams of walnuts with 3 tablespoons of cinnamon and 2 tablespoons of sugar for the filling.
Spread the walnut mixture over the phyllo layers in the baking pan.
Continue layering phyllo dough and walnut mixture until all ingredients are used, finishing with phyllo dough.
Cut the baklava into squares or diamonds before baking.
Bake the baklava for 1 hour until golden brown.
Pour the warm syrup over the hot baklava after baking.
