Wash the chickpeas with about 2 tablespoons of baking soda to scrub them and help them cook faster.
Place the washed chickpeas in a saucepan and fill it halfway with water, ensuring the water is about two-thirds higher than the chickpeas.
Add garlic, lemon, and about 1 tablespoon of baking soda to the saucepan with the chickpeas.
Cook the chickpeas on high heat, adding a drizzle of olive oil and salt later on.
After cooking, extract the garlic and lemon from the saucepan and set them aside.
Cut the leftover bread into small pieces, according to your preference.
For the sandwich presentation, apply hot sauce on the bread, then add tuna and cumin.
For the bowl presentation, start by putting some bread in the bowl, add the sauce, and then add the soft or hard boiled egg to taste.
Mix everything together in the bowl and start eating, adding olive oil, vinegar, or lemon juice if desired.
Note that the chickpeas took a long time to cook because they were not soaked; using canned chickpeas or soaked ones would be faster, or using a pressure cooker would take only 20 minutes.
