In a bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of butter, 3 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 egg.
Mix the ingredients using a manual or electric whisk until the butter is broken into small pieces.
Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1/2 cup of milk to the mixture.
Gradually add 3 cups of sifted all-purpose flour and 2 teaspoons of baking powder.
Mix until the dough becomes difficult to handle, then knead with hands until it doesn't stick to them.
Let the dough rest for 15 minutes covered with plastic wrap or a towel.
Roll out the dough to about 1/2 cm thickness on a floured surface.
Cut into circles using a cookie cutter or a cup, about 6 cm wide.
Place on a greased baking sheet with a small gap between them.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 15 minutes, until cooked but not browned.
Prepare the filling by combining 1/2 liter of milk and 1/2 cup of sugar in a saucepan, mixing with a spatula.
Add 1/2 cup of cornstarch and mix until there are no lumps.
In another bowl, beat 1 egg and add it to the milk mixture, stirring well.
Cook the mixture over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until it thickens.
Once thickened, remove from heat and cover with plastic wrap to prevent a skin from forming.
Fill each cookie with the cream, cutting them in half if desired.
Moisten the edges with a little milk or water and coat with shredded coconut.
Dust the tops with powdered sugar.
