Form ground beef into patties, about 1 inch thick.
Season both sides of the patties with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on one side until browned.
Flip the patties and top each with a slice of cheddar cheese.
Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the meat is cooked to desired doneness.
Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden.
Spread mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard on the bottom half of each bun.
Layer lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles on the bottom bun.
Place the cooked patty on top of the veggies.
Cover with the top half of the bun and press gently to secure.
