Add 3 cups of flour to a mixing bowl.
Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the flour and whisk together.
In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of warm water with 2 teaspoons of sugar and stir to dissolve.
Add 2 and 1/4 teaspoons of active dry yeast to the warm water and stir gently.
Let the yeast mixture sit for a few minutes to activate.
Make a well in the flour mixture and pour in the yeast mixture.
Add 3 tablespoons of olive oil into the well with the yeast mixture.
Using a spatula, mix the ingredients together until combined.
Use your hands to knead the dough until it forms a ball, about 8 to 10 minutes, or skip kneading if preferred.
