soy sauce

Cut off some of the fat from the flank steak but leave some; remove any silver skin.
Slice the flank steak against the grain at a 45-degree angle into thin slices.
In a bowl, combine 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, 1 tablespoon sugar, and cracked black pepper; whisk until sugar is almost dissolved.
Slowly add in sesame oil to the marinade.
Pour the marinade over the flank steak, add chopped scallions, and mix well.
Marinate the flank steak for 2 to 2.5 hours.
Thread the marinated steak onto skewers in a tight S shape.
Preheat the grill until hot and place the skewers on it.
Sear the skewers on all four sides until nicely charred, flipping when the edges start to cook.
Serve and enjoy.
