Knead dough on a floured surface until smooth, about 10 minutes.
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1-2 hours.
Punch down the dough and knead in raisins until evenly distributed.
Shape the dough into a round loaf and place in a greased baking pan.
Cover and let rise again until doubled, about 30-60 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Brush the top with egg wash for a golden finish.
Bake until golden brown, about 30-40 minutes.
Cool on a wire rack before serving.
