Split peas are easier to find and cheaper.
Boil salted pigtail and salted pork rib in water to remove excess salt, repeating this process four times.
Add beef neck bone to the pot with the boiled salted pigtail and pork.
Add grease seasoning blend for additional flavor.
Pour enough water to cover the ingredients in the pot.
Seal the lid on the pressure cooker and cook for 40 minutes.
Transfer the contents to a regular pot after cooking in the pressure cooker.
Add diced pumpkin and carrots to the pot, cutting them into small pieces for faster cooking.
Add diced yam in small bite-sized pieces to the pot.
Cover the pot and let it cook for about 20 minutes.
Add spices: scallion, thyme, scotch bonnet pepper, and pimento seeds to the pot.
Add a little bit of coconut milk to the pot (optional).
Add black pepper to the pot.
Cover and let the soup simmer for about 10 minutes to blend the flavors.
Remove thyme, scallion, and scotch bonnet pepper from the pot before serving.
