Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a cake pan with butter.
In a mixing bowl, cream together 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
Add 4 eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1/2 teaspoon almond extract.
In another bowl, combine 2 cups arrowroot starch, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 tablespoon lime zest, and 1 tablespoon lemon zest.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with 1 cup milk and 1 cup coconut milk until just combined.
Fold in 1/2 cup grated coconut gently.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
Turn the cake out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
