Instructions

  1. 1Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. 2In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. 3Add the all-purpose flour and cocoa powder to the butter mixture, and mix until combined to form a dough.
  4. 4Press the dough into the bottom of a greased 9x9 inch baking pan evenly.
  5. 5Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool.
  6. 6In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sweetened condensed milk and caramel sauce, stirring until smooth and heated through.
  7. 7Pour the caramel mixture over the cooled shortbread base, spreading it evenly.
  8. 8In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
