Grana padano offers a similar flavor at a lower cost.

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare two cookie sheets with parchment paper.

Using a tablespoon, scoop mounds of grated parmesan cheese onto the cookie sheets, spacing them apart.

Press down each mound to flatten them; it's okay if there are holes in the mounds.

Sprinkle black pepper or any spices you like on top of the cheese mounds.

Bake in the preheated oven for 4 to 6 minutes until they are golden.

Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet.

Slide the crisps off onto a plate after cooling.
