Pour in 500 ml of warm milk little by little while mixing.

4

Add 2 teaspoons of salt and continue mixing.

5

Start kneading the dough by hand on a work surface until it no longer sticks to your hands, about 10 minutes.

Put the dough back in the bowl, cover with cling film, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

7

After 1 hour, remove the cling film and place the dough on the work surface.

8

Spread a little melted butter on the work surface.

Divide the dough into two parts, placing one half back in the bowl and keeping it in a cool place.

Form a roll and divide the dough into eight equal parts, shaping them into balls.

11

Flatten each ball into a round shape and coat each piece well with melted butter.

12

Arrange the pieces in a pan on top of each other and cover them to let them rise for another hour.

13

After 1 hour, brush the risen bread with the egg yolk mixed with 2 tablespoons of milk and sprinkle with poppy seeds.

14

Preheat the oven to 190°C and bake the bread for 30 minutes.

15

After baking, leave the bread in the pan for 10 minutes before placing it on a rack to cool completely.
