Olive oil is healthier for heart health.
Heat the milk to about 40°C and add the melted butter and yeast, mixing well.
Add the molasses. You can substitute with brown sugar or honey.
Add salt and spices (caraway, coriander, fennel, etc.) as desired.
Gradually add the rye flour and mix.
Knead the dough by hand for about 10 minutes.
Cover and let rise for 30 minutes to 1 hour or until doubled in size.
On a floured surface, knead for about 30 seconds to form a shape about 15 cm in size.
Place it on a baking sheet and poke holes all over with a fork.
Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes to 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 30 minutes.
After baking, quickly pour water over the bread while it's hot.
