Today, variations can be found across West Africa and beyond, adapting to seasonal ingredients and personal tastes.

Chop the cabbage roughly and boil it with a little salt for 15-20 minutes.
Heat sunflower oil in a pan and add chopped onions; cook for about 3 minutes until translucent.
Add a full tube of tomato puree to the onions and cook for 5-7 minutes.
Stir in 1 tablespoon of curry powder and 1 tablespoon of thyme; cook for another 3 minutes.
Add the homemade tomato sauce made from blended tomatoes, garlic, ginger, and spring onions; cook for 20-25 minutes on medium heat, covered.
Add all the chopped vegetables (except the cabbage) to the sauce and cover; cook for another 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
After 15 minutes, add the cooked cabbage to the mixture and stir.
Add the spices: 1 tablespoon of crayfish powder, 1 tablespoon of brown flavor stock, and stir well.
Add spring onions and let it cook for another 10 minutes on low heat.
