Spelt flour adds a nutty flavor while being a healthier alternative.
In a mixing bowl, add 2 cups of whole wheat flour.
Add 1/2 cup of sugar, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt to the flour and mix them together.
Add 2 tablespoons of margarine to the dry ingredients and rub it in using your fingers until it resembles breadcrumbs.
Pour in milk gradually to form a fairly stiff dough, using slightly less than 1 cup or up to 1 cup as needed.
Dust your surface with flour and roll out the dough.
Cut out circular biscuits using a cutter or a cup.
Poke holes in the biscuits using a fork or a toothpick.
Arrange the biscuits on a greased pan.
Cover the pan and place it on the fire for about 20 to 30 seconds to heat up.
Reduce the flame to the lowest setting and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, checking occasionally.
After 30 minutes, turn the biscuits over to brown the top and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until crispy.
Remove the biscuits from the heat and allow them to cool.
