Welcome to the kitchen and introduction to the dish.
For the ingredients: 1 cup soaked garbanzo beans or canned chickpeas, 1 chorizo sausage, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1/2 green pepper, 1 bay leaf, 1/4 cup parsley, 6 ounces tomato sauce, lime juice, saffron strands, 1 tablespoon oregano, 1 teaspoon cumin, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste, and olive oil.
Cook the garbanzo beans for 30 minutes.
Add olive oil to a pan to start frying the peppers and onions.
Add the bay leaf and onion to the pan.
Add minced garlic to the pan.
Add the chorizo sausage to the pan.
Add the tomato sauce to the pan.
Add a few strands of saffron to the pan (or sazon if saffron is unavailable).
Add parsley to the pan.
Add the dry seasonings: oregano, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the pan.
Cook the mixture for about 2 more minutes before adding the garbanzo beans.
Add the chickpeas to the pan and mix all ingredients together well.
Cover the pan and let it cook for 10 minutes.
Add a little more parsley to the dish before serving.
Drizzle olive oil over the top before serving.
Serve the dish alone or over rice.
