Traditionally, this jam is made during the harvest season and is often shared during celebrations and gatherings. Today, morula jam has gained popularity beyond Botswana, finding its way into international markets as a unique and exotic spread.

Collect morula fruits from two different plants, mixing green and yellow ones.
Wash the morula fruits thoroughly to remove any debris.
Cut off the heads of the morula fruits and pit them.
Boil the morula fruits in hot water for about 30 minutes.
Let the boiled morula fruits sit to cool slightly before mashing them.
Add sugar and lemon juice to the mashed morula.
Stir in water and mix until well combined.
Incorporate pectin and stir continuously until the mixture thickens.
Add vanilla extract and spices, adjusting to taste.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly before transferring to jars.
