Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Grease the muffin tin with cooking spray.

In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, oil, water, and eggs, and whisk until well incorporated.

Rinse the blueberries thoroughly and remove stems.

Fill the muffin tin about 2/3 full with the batter.

Add 2-3 blueberries on top of each muffin and push them down into the batter.

Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

For the leftover batter, prepare a blueberry compote by cooking blueberries with sugar on medium-low heat for about 10 minutes until syrupy.

Strain the compote to separate the juice from the solids.

Layer half of the batter in a loaf pan, add the compote juice, then add the remaining batter and more juice on top, marbling it with a knife.
