1

Wash the steak tips in cool water to open up the muscle tissue.

2

In a bowl, mix 1/4 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch, a splash of soy sauce, and a little sugar with the steak tips.

3

Mix well and let the steak tips marinate overnight in the fridge.

4

Trim the stem end off the Brussels sprouts, cut them in half, and discard any tattered leaves.

5

In a hot pan, add a film of water and the Brussels sprouts, cover tightly, and steam for 10 minutes until fork tender.

6

Remove the Brussels sprouts from the pan and shock them in cool water to protect their bright green color.

7

In the same pan, add the marinated steak tips and stir-fry on high heat until browned.

8

Add the frozen minced garlic and ginger cubes to the pan along with a little sweetener (molasses) and more soy sauce if needed.

9

If the mixture looks loose, mix up a cornstarch slurry with soy sauce and stir it in to thicken.

10

Taste and adjust seasoning, adding a splash of rice vinegar if desired, and sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.
