1

Crack 2 eggs into a bowl and beat them with a whisk until smooth.

2

Pour olive oil into a frying pan.

3

Add 1 pound of ground beef to the pan and cook over medium heat, breaking it up with a spatula.

4

Slice 1 onion in half, then finely chop it and add to the frying pan. Fry for 1-2 minutes.

5

Press 3 garlic cloves gently with the side of a knife, chop finely, and add to the pan. Stir well.

6

Finely dice 1 bell pepper and add it to the pan. Continue frying everything together for another 3-4 minutes.

7

Dice 5 or 6 large potatoes into small cubes and place them into a pot. Pour in water and add 1 teaspoon of salt. Cover with a lid and cook over medium heat until the potatoes are soft.

8

In a separate bowl, mix 4 ounces of tomato sauce with 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of basil, and 1 teaspoon of oregano. Pour the sauce into the pan with the ground beef and mix well. Let it simmer gently for 5-7 minutes.

9

Finely chop 1 bunch of parsley and stir it into the pan. Remove the pan from the heat.

10

Check the potatoes for doneness with a fork, then transfer them to a large bowl. Mash the potatoes while they’re still warm.

11

Add the 2 beaten eggs to the mashed potatoes and mix very well.

12

Add 1/2 stick (60 grams) of slightly melted butter and stir again.

13

Add 2 tablespoons of flour and mix thoroughly until smooth and soft.

14

Take a baking pan and pour olive oil on the bottom, spreading it evenly with a brush.

15

Spoon in a little more than half of the mashed potato mixture and press to form a base.

16

Add the ground beef and vegetables on top and spread evenly.

17

Top with the remaining potatoes and smooth the surface.

18

Grate 5 ounces (150 grams) of mozzarella cheese and sprinkle it over the top.

19

Bake in a preheated oven at 360°F (180°C) for 30 minutes.

20

While it bakes, take half an iceberg lettuce and chop it into large chunks. Place the lettuce into a large bowl.

21

Add a few handfuls of salad greens to the bowl.

22

Slice 1 cucumber into thin half rings and transfer to the bowl.

23
