Add 2 cups of water to your pot for every 1 cup of rice and bring to a boil.

Rinse the rice under cold water about three times to remove surface starches, discarding the water each time.

Add salt and garlic powder to the boiling water, stirring to combine.

Once the water is boiling again, add the rice.

Once most of the liquid has evaporated, stir in the butter.

Lower the heat and cover the pot to allow the rice to finish cooking for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Check that the rice is fluffy and smells delicious before serving.
