Add onion paste and sauté until fragrant.
Stir in minced ginger and garlic, cooking until aromatic.
Add chicken pieces and cook until lightly browned.
Sprinkle in cumin powder, coriander, cardamom, cloves, bay leaf, and cinnamon; stir to coat chicken.
Pour in water and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer until chicken is cooked through.
Season with salt to taste.
Add green chilies and milk; stir well.
Serve hot with bread.
