Measure out 2 pounds (1 kilogram) of all-purpose flour and reserve a little for later.
Add all the dry ingredients to the flour: 1.5 tablespoons of sugar, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
Mix all the dry ingredients together thoroughly.
Create a well in the center of the flour mixture and add 4 ounces of vegetable oil.
Gradually add water to the mixture, adjusting the amount based on the dough consistency.
Mix the ingredients in the center until they form a ball of dough.
Knead the dough on a clean surface using the palms of your hands and the backs of your fingers to incorporate everything.
Knead gently until the dough is smooth, treating it with care.
The dough will have a brownish color due to the unrefined sugar used.
Cover the dough with a clean, damp kitchen towel to keep it hydrated and prevent crusting.
Let the dough rest at room temperature before using.
