Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare a caramel by melting sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown.
Pour the caramel into a flan mold, tilting to coat the bottom evenly.
Blend cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Pour the cheese mixture over the caramel in the mold.
Place the flan mold in a larger baking dish and fill the dish with water halfway up the sides of the mold.
Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the flan is set and a knife inserted comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to firm up.
To serve, run a knife around the edges and invert onto a serving plate.
Drizzle any remaining caramel over the top before slicing.
