1

Welcome to the dairy church kitchen. Today we're going to be making Irish scones.

2

We're using a recipe from the Cocoa Castle cookbook.

3

We'll need 3 cups of flour. Brush it off with a knife for correct measurement.

4

Add 1 teaspoon of salt.

5

Add 4 teaspoons of baking powder.

6

Add 1 cup of sugar.

7

Beat 1 egg before adding it to the mixture.

8

Mix in 1 and 1/4 cups of milk.

9

You can add 1/2 cup of raisins, chocolate chips, nuts, or dried apricots.

10

Use an Irish spoon to mix the batter as it thickens.

11

Spray a scone pan with cooking spray.

12

Spoon the batter into the wells of the scone pan.

13

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

14

If using a heavy metal pan, bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden.

15

If using a light cake pan, bake for 1 hour.

16

Let the scones cool a little in the pan before removing them.

17

Serve warm with Irish butter.
