Cover a roasting pan with aluminum foil using about three pieces to prevent sticking.
In a small saucepan, melt butter on medium heat.
Add brown sugar to the melted butter.
Add honey to the mixture.
Add ground cloves (optional) for flavor and simmer the glaze throughout the process.
Place the ham in the roasting pan and baste it with the honey glaze.
Cover the ham with another piece of aluminum foil to prevent burning.
Bake the ham at 325°F for about 15 minutes per pound.
Every 15 minutes, remove the aluminum foil and baste the ham with more honey glaze.
During the last 5 minutes, remove the foil one last time, glaze the ham again, and sprinkle a thin crust of brown sugar on top (optional).
Set the oven to broil and broil the ham for about 5 minutes, or set the oven to 500°F if broil is not available.
Once done, serve with any leftover honey glaze.
