2 cups almond milk
1/2 cup sugar

1 cinnamon stick (optional)
1 tablespoon orange blossom water
warqa pastry or filo dough

Combine 2 cups of almond milk with 1/2 cup of sugar over medium heat.

Dissolve 1.5 tablespoons of cornstarch with a bit more almond milk to create a slurry and add it to the pot.

If using plant-based milk, you may need a bit more cornstarch to achieve the right consistency.

Optionally, add a cinnamon stick to the mixture.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 5 to 10 minutes until it thickens and coats the spoon.

Remove from heat and strain through a fine mesh sieve.

Add 1 tablespoon of orange blossom water and let it chill.

For the pastry, use Moroccan warqa pastry, or substitute with filo dough or Tunisian brick pastry.
