Break a piece of tamarind and place it in a bowl.
Add 1/3 cup of hot water to the tamarind and let it soak briefly.
Use a spoon to crush the tamarind in the water to extract the juice.
Add a handful of mint leaves to the bowl, reserving a couple for garnish later.
Squeeze the juice of half a lime into the bowl.
Add 2 tablespoons of jaggery to the mixture.
Grind the mixture until well combined and smooth.
Strain the mixture through a sieve to remove solids and seeds, pushing down to extract as much liquid as possible.
Transfer the strained liquid into a jug.
Add enough spring water to fill half the jug.
Prepare glasses with ice cubes and pour the tamarind drink over the ice.
Garnish with a slice of lime and mint leaves.
