Warm water and milk together until lukewarm.

Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a cloth.
Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Punch down the dough and divide it into equal portions.
Shape each portion into a round roll and place on a baking sheet.
Cover the rolls and let rise again for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
Brush the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle with seeds if desired.
Bake the rolls until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
Cool on a wire rack before serving.
