Recipe Information
Meatball Sliders
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
In a bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef and 1 pound of spicy Italian sausage.
Use a food processor to finely chop onions and garlic, then add to the meat mixture.
Add about ½ cup of panko breadcrumbs, 2 beaten eggs, and chopped Italian parsley to the meat mixture.
Season the mixture with roasted garlic herb seasoning, Saison seasoning, and ½ cup of Parmesan cheese.
Add sour cream to the mixture to keep the meatballs moist, then mix everything together thoroughly using both hands.
Refrigerate the meat mixture for about 1 hour to firm it up.
Scoop out the meat mixture using a regular-sized ice cream scoop to form meatballs, then flatten them slightly to prevent puffing during cooking.
Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes.
While the meatballs are baking, slice the Hawaiian rolls in half.
Add a layer of mozzarella cheese to the bottom half of the Hawaiian rolls to prevent sogginess from the sauce.
Prepare the marinara sauce by adding roasted garlic and herbs, a tablespoon and a half of sugar, Italian seasoning, and more Parmesan cheese to taste.
Once the meatballs are done, add them to the marinara sauce and mix well.
Layer the meatballs on the Hawaiian rolls, using a scooper to add sauce under the meatballs.
Add extra marinara sauce on top of the meatballs, then add a mixture of mozzarella and provolone cheese on top.
Return the meatball sliders to the oven without the top buns for about 10 minutes to melt the cheese.
After the cheese has melted, place the top buns back on the sliders.
Brush melted butter on top of the buns.
