Turn the heat to medium.

Stir continuously to melt the sugar and toast the almonds evenly.

Watch as the sugar melts and coats the almonds, stirring until the almonds start to brown.

Once the almonds are browned, turn off the stove.

Spread the almonds onto parchment paper to cool.

Once cooled, break apart any clumps if necessary.

Store the caramelized almonds in a Ziploc bag or airtight container.
