Add 1/2 cup of washed jasmine rice to the instant pot.

Add 3.5 cups of water to the instant pot.

Put the lid on the instant pot and switch the valve to seal.

Set the instant pot to pressure cook on high for 20 minutes.

When the timer goes off, naturally release for 10 minutes, then manually release the rest of the pressure.

Open the lid of the instant pot and stir the congee; it will look runny at first but will thicken when stirred.
