Start by using 2 bags of frozen dark sweet cherries, each weighing 1 lb, and place them in a large pot.
Turn the stove on high to start cooking the whole cherries down.
Add 2 cups of sugar to the pot with the cherries.
Pour in 4 tablespoons of bottled lemon juice into the mixture.
Use an immersion blender to blend some of the cherries while keeping some whole for texture.
Add 1 tablespoon of butter to reduce foam on the top of the jam.
Once the mixture starts to simmer, lower the heat and let it simmer until it thickens.
After cooking, allow the jam to cool before serving it on toast or bread.
