Empty the beans into a strainer and rinse them well.

Chop bacon and onion into small pieces.

Heat a medium saucepan over medium heat and add a little olive oil.

Add chopped onion, bacon, and crushed garlic to the saucepan; sauté until the onion is translucent.

Add 0.5 cup of chicken stock and all the beans to the saucepan; mix gently and bring to a simmer for 5 minutes.

Add another 0.5 cup of chicken stock, 0.5 cup of tomato sauce, 1 tablespoon of barbecue sauce, 1 tablespoon of worcestershire sauce, 0.25 cup of treacle, and 1 teaspoon of mustard powder; mix well.

Simmer for approximately 10 minutes until the sauce thickens and the beans are soft.

Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes to thicken further.
