Start by preparing the French bread, slicing it lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
Fry the fries in a deep fryer until crispy, using any amount you want.
While the fries are cooking, grill or pan-fry the steak until cooked to your liking, about 4-6 minutes per side.
Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.
Spread mayonnaise on one side of the bread and ketchup on the other side.
Layer the sliced steak on the bottom half of the bread.
Add a generous portion of fries on top of the steak.
Sprinkle with curry powder, salt, and black pepper to taste.
Add sliced onions and peppers on top of the fries.
Top with cheese and any additional condiments you prefer.
Close the sandwich and press down gently to compact it.
Cut the sandwich in half for easier handling.
