It symbolizes warmth and hospitality, often served during festive occasions and family gatherings. In modern times, variations include different flours and toppings, reflecting personal and regional preferences, making it a beloved staple across Nordic countries.

Combine 70 grams of oats, 100 grams of flour, and two pinches of salt in a bowl.
Add boiling water (approximately 97 degrees) to the dry ingredients and mix until all the dry content has soaked up the water.
Knead the mixture until smooth.
Dust the cutting board with rye flour and roll out the dough.
Prick the flatbread to ensure it remains flat while cooking.
Cook the flatbread in the Ooni oven, flipping it to cook both sides.
Once cooked, place the flatbread in water and stack it on a plate to keep it moist.
