Low-fat cheese reduces calories while maintaining flavor.

dry white wine

🥗Healthier: non-alcoholic white wine

💰Cheaper: chicken broth

Non-alcoholic wine provides a similar acidity without alcohol.

cornstarch

🥗Healthier: arrowroot powder

💰Cheaper: all-purpose flour

Arrowroot powder is a gluten-free thickener.

Emmental cheese

🥗Healthier: part-skim mozzarella

💰Cheaper: cheddar cheese

Part-skim mozzarella lowers fat while providing meltability.

5

Smash two cloves of garlic and rub the inside of the fondue pot with one clove.

6

Add the remaining garlic cloves to the pot.

7

Pour in 1.5 cups of dry white wine and heat until just boiling, then turn off the heat and let it sit for 10 minutes.
