2 cups yellow split peas
1 large carrot
2 chicken stock cubes
3/4 teaspoon salt (for the chicken)

1 teaspoon brown sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4-1/2 cup water (dumplings)
2 tablespoon parsley
