Tofu Nuggets

14 oz firm tofu
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 large eggs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup tapioca starch
1 medium carrot (grated)
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 tsp garlic powder (seasoning powder)

Combine the measured tofu with ground black pepper, egg, bread crumbs, all-purpose flour, tapioca starch, and grated carrot in a bowl.

Add seasoning powder to taste (optional).

Transfer the mixed tofu mixture into a greased plastic container or a heat-proof dish, leveling it properly.

Steam the container of tofu mixture for 25 to 30 minutes.

Let the steamed tofu mixture cool completely at room temperature.

Once cool and firm, carefully remove it from the container and cut it into desired nugget shapes.

Coat each nugget evenly with all-purpose flour.

Dip each nugget into bread crumbs.

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the coated nuggets in batches until golden brown on all sides.

Remove the nuggets from the pan and let them dry.
