Bring water to a boil in a large saucepan.

Add frozen pierogies to the boiling water and cook until they float, about 3 minutes.

Drain the fully cooked pierogies.

In the same pot, pour in 2 tablespoons of olive oil and turn the heat to medium-high.

Pan-fry the pierogies for 2-3 minutes until golden brown on one side.

Flip the pierogies and fry for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown on the other side.

Chop 1 large yellow onion.

In a saucepan, add olive oil and a tidbit of butter, then add the chopped onions.
