Costa Rica Cooking- Gallo Pinto

Melt butter in a saucepan.

Add minced garlic and cook for a few minutes to enhance flavor.

Add bacon to the pan and cook until it starts to brown.

Add half a cup each of chopped red and green peppers and half a cup of chopped onion to the pan and toss together.

Cook rice and beans separately; use canned black or red beans if preferred.

Add cooked black beans to the pan with the other ingredients, adjusting the amount based on preference for beans versus rice.

Season the mixture with salt to taste.

Add 3 to 4 tablespoons of salsa Lizano to the mixture for flavor.

Stir in fresh cilantro last to maintain its color and flavor.

Plate the gallo pinto and serve, optionally with avocado.
