Cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Crack the eggs, remove the eyes, and add lime zest, lime juice, vanilla, and liquid spices to the mixture.
Combine the egg mixture with the butter and sugar mix until light in color and creamy, then set aside.
Prep the fruits by blending them and mixing with browning.
Combine dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, spices, salt) in another bowl and set aside.
Fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined, being careful not to over mix.
Prepare the cake pans by adding a sheet of wax paper to the bottom and greasing it with butter.
Pour the batter into the prepared pans; larger containers will bake for 90 minutes, smaller ones for 60 minutes.
After baking, soak the cakes with a rum and wine mixture to keep them moist.
Allow the cakes to rest for 24 hours before cutting.
