Raspberry Barbecue Sauce

Prepare a dry rub by mixing salt, pepper, onion powder, brown sugar, chili powder, cayenne, and dry mustard.
Rub the dry mixture thickly onto the ribs, pressing it in well.
Wrap the ribs tightly in foil and roast in the oven at 275°F for 3 to 4 hours.
After roasting, check that the ribs are tender and can be picked up with tongs.
In a food processor, combine raspberries, chopped garlic, and one small sweet onion.
Add half a cup of packed light brown sugar, sorghum, ketchup, and a tablespoon of cider vinegar to the processor.
Include ground ginger and hot pepper, then puree the mixture.
Cook the sauce in a pan for about 30 minutes, optionally straining out the seeds.
Once the sauce is ready, apply a light coating on the ribs before grilling.
Grill the ribs, basting with sauce and cooking for about 5 minutes on each side, watching carefully to prevent burning.
Remove the ribs from the grill, cut, and plate them, serving any additional sauce on the side.
