1 cup unsalted butter
4 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup burnt sugar browning
2 tsp orange rind
1 tbsp mixed peel
6 red maraschino cherries
1/4 cup liquid from the cherries
2 tbsp red wine
2 tbsp rum
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp fine salt
1 tsp cake spice
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp freshly ground nutmeg
