Today, it is often accompanied by sides like stuffing and cranberry sauce, and variations can be found worldwide, especially during festive occasions.

Start with a lot of butter.
Add homemade poultry seasoning and granulated garlic (store-bought can be used).
Prepare the turkey, which is pre-tied (Butterball brand).
Season the inside of the turkey with salt and pepper.
Use the back of a spoon to loosen the skin from the breast on both sides.
Grab some butter and smear it in between the skin and the breast.
Rub the remaining butter all over the outside of the turkey.
Season the outside of the turkey with quite a bit of salt and pepper for flavor.
Prepare a homemade rack using thickly sliced onions and the turkey neck.
Place the turkey in a foil pan for easy cleanup.
Roast the turkey in a 425°F oven for 30 minutes.
Lower the oven temperature to 325°F and cook for 90 minutes to 2 hours.
Check the turkey; it should be golden and beautiful.
