Welcome to my kitchen; I'm Kristy and today I'm making Cincinnati chili.
You will need 1 pound of lean ground beef, 1 teaspoon of worcestershire sauce, and 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar.
Prepare 3 ounces of tomato paste, finely dice 1 onion, and mince 2 garlic cloves.
Measure out 3.5 cups of water and gather the spices: 3 teaspoons of chili powder, 2 bay leaves, 1 teaspoon of onion powder or minced onion, 0.5 teaspoon of smoked paprika, 0.5 teaspoon of cumin, 0.25 teaspoon of red pepper flakes, 1 teaspoon of salt, 0.5 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder.
Add the ground beef and diced onion to a large pot.
Pour in the 3.5 cups of water, then add the worcestershire sauce and apple cider vinegar.
Mince the garlic and add it to the pot along with all the spices.
Add 3 ounces of tomato paste to the pot; you can add more if you prefer a thicker sauce.
Simmer the chili on low heat for a couple of hours until it thickens slightly.
Serve the chili over spaghetti, traditionally served with toppings like beans, cheese, and onions.
