Black pepper can provide heat at a lower cost.
Heat a skillet on medium heat and add enough olive oil to cover the base, approximately 10-15 g.
Add garlic and red pepper flakes to the oil.
Once the oil is heated, add onion and bell pepper, stirring to combine.
Cook until the garlic turns golden and the onion becomes transparent.
Add half of the salt during cooking.
Add canned crushed tomatoes, mixing well.
Add the remaining salt, sugar, oregano, and a basil leaf.
Cook for 10-15 minutes until the sauce bubbles and thickens.
Let the sauce rest for 30-60 minutes before using.
Spread 60-80 cm of sauce over the prepared pizza dough.
Bake in a preheated oven at 250ºC for the first cooking phase.
Add 200-250 g of cheese in small pieces on top of the sauce and bake until melted.
Add a little more sauce and sprinkle with oregano before serving.
