Prepare the bread dough by adding lightly warm water to a bowl.
Add 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of yeast to the water and stir to dissolve.
Add soft butter to the mixture.
Add all-purpose flour to the mixture and combine everything to form a shaggy mass of dough.
Transfer the dough onto a clean work surface and knead for 6 to 8 minutes until smooth and less sticky.
If the dough is tough, add 1-2 tablespoons of water; if too sticky, add 1-2 tablespoons of flour.
Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes to absorb moisture and develop gluten.
Knead the dough for an additional 2 minutes until it shows strength and elasticity, passing the windowpane test.
Coat a clean bowl with oil, place the dough inside, and cover with plastic wrap.
Let the dough rise in a warm environment for 2 hours or until doubled in size.
Transfer the risen dough onto a lightly floured surface and shape it into a rectangle.
Fold the bottom third of the dough up and the top down to overlap.
Turn the dough 90 degrees and flatten it into a long rectangle with a rolling pin, ensuring no air pockets remain.
Roll the dough like a jelly roll and pinch the edges to seal.
Shape the dough to create tension on top for good oven rise.
Place the shaped dough into a greased baking pan and wrap with plastic film.
Let the dough rise for 70 to 75 minutes until well risen.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (about 175°C).
Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 32 to 35 minutes.
Remove the bread from the pan and let it cool completely before slicing.
Apply butter on top of the bread after baking to soften the crust.
