Begin by mixing 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and 1/8 teaspoon of salt in a bowl.
Add 2 1/2 tablespoons of cold, cubed butter to the dry mixture.
Use a pastry blender to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Gradually add cold water, about 1 to 2 teaspoons at a time, mixing until the dough starts to come together.
If the dough isn't coming together, add a little more cold water as needed, but avoid overworking it.
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap, flatten it into a disc, and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
After chilling, sprinkle flour on the work surface and roll out the dough into an approximately 8-inch circle.
Transfer the rolled dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup of mixed berries, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of cornstarch, and a pinch of salt, and stir to coat the berries.
Place the berry mixture in the center of the rolled dough, leaving a border around the edges.
Fold the edges of the dough over the berries, pleating as necessary to create a rustic look.
Brush the pleated edges with milk and sprinkle with coarse raw sugar.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the galette for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the berries are bubbly.
If the crust browns too quickly, cover it with foil for the last 10 minutes of baking.
